Townhouses Proposed for Germantown SiteWhile the Germantown neighborhood may be one of the city’s most underrated neighborhoods, at least in our opinion, development continues for this desirable part of Northern Nashville.

Recent headlines grabbed our attention that outlined a possible new development that could bring 22 new townhouses to the area, which is widely thought to be one of the more attractive locations for both residential and commercial development right now.

According to The Tennessean, a group of Nashville investors have secured nearly an acre of land in Germantown in which plans are currently under way to develop the 22 townhouse project, which would be located at the northwest and southwest corners of Taylor Street and 2nd Avenue.

If built, the new townhouses would be situated directly across the street from the possible development site where TPA Group, a developer out of Atlanta, is planning a massive 400,000 square foot mixed-use project that could include a boutique hotel, office space, retail space, restaurant space, and even a grocery store.

Plans for the new townhouses in Germantown haven't yet been approved by the city of Nashville, but given Germantown has traditionally been a neighborhood that’s been dominated by single-family homes over the years, a different product could bring a little more balance to the neighborhood’s real estate market, not to mention a whole lot of interest from potential buyers.
